I think a Trade Up feature, similar to CS, would fit Forward Assault really well.
Right now, there are already a lot of weapon skin combinations in the game. Right now there are 2,553 total item combinations, with 2,467 weapon combinations alone. That is exactly why a proper upgrade system could give lower tier skins more value again, instead of them just sitting in inventories forever.
Basic idea
You put in a certain number of skins of the same rarity, pay a credit fee, and receive 1 skin from the next rarity tier.
So for example:
Common, Rare
Rare, Epic
Epic, Legendary
Legendary, Classified
Why this would be good
Important point, amount required
Because FA has a massive amount of skins, I do not think the system should be too cheap or too easy.
In CS it is 10 items, but here I think it should be discussed carefully because of the much larger and more mixed pool.
Possible options:
My suggestion
Make trade ups require:
The credit cost matters a lot, because otherwise this system could become too easy to abuse.
Example credit costs:
That way, the system is still exciting, but not free.
Conditions / float should matter too
Skin condition already has clear ranges:
Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred.
So ideally, the trade up result should also depend on the average condition of the input skins.
That would make the system deeper and reward people who save better condition skins.
Example
10x Rare skins with good average condition, plus credits
=
1x random Epic skin with condition based on input average
Balancing ideas
To keep it fair, I think some rules would help:
Why Limited Edition should probably be excluded
The rarity file already separates normal rarity tiers from limitedEdition. That makes it easier to protect event, seasonal, or exclusive skins from being farmed through trade ups.
Best version in my opinion
If this ever gets added, I think the best version would be:
That would make useless low tier skins valuable again, while still keeping high tier skins rare.
What do you guys think?
Would 10 skins be fair, or should it be 15 because the skin pool is so large?
Would you want credits only, or credits + same rarity skins?

Why this would be good
- Gives duplicate and low tier skins an actual use
- Makes opening crates more interesting long term
- Creates another progression path for free to play players
- Adds excitement without directly giving out free high tier items

Possible options:
- 10 skins, classic trade up style
- 15 skins, better for balancing because of the large skin pool
- 10 skins + credit cost, probably the best middle ground
My suggestion
Make trade ups require:
- 10 skins of the same rarity
- All skins must be weapon skins
- A credit payment to complete the upgrade
The credit cost matters a lot, because otherwise this system could become too easy to abuse.
Example credit costs:
- Common to Rare: 500 Credits
- Rare to Epic: 1,000 Credits
- Epic to Legendary: 4,000 Credits
- Legendary to Classified: 10,000 Credits
That way, the system is still exciting, but not free.

To keep it fair, I think some rules would help:
- No Limited Edition skins in trade ups
- No gloves or characters in the system, weapon skins only
- Only skins from permanent crate pools should be allowed
- Higher tier trade ups should have expensive credit costs
