Skins Policy

Hi.

I'd like to raise a concern regarding the AK-47 skin called "russia".

While I understand this skin may have been added before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and was not originally intended as a political statement, the context has fundamentally changed. Today, the Russian state is internationally recognized as the aggressor in an ongoing war that has caused immense destruction, suffering, and loss of human life.

For many players, symbols associated with Russia are no longer perceived as neutral. Their presence in the game can create discomfort and leave the impression that the developers are ignoring the reality of the situation. This is especially relevant for players from countries directly affected by Russian aggression, as well as for those who support the values of democracy, freedom, and international law.

I believe it would be appropriate to replace this skin with a neutral alternative or at least start a public discussion about its future. Such a decision would demonstrate respect for a significant part of the community and align the game with the position taken by most democratic and European countries, which support Ukraine and maintain sanctions against Russia.

Some players from Russia may oppose such a change. However, the opinion of citizens of the aggressor state should not outweigh the concerns of those who are suffering the consequences of that aggression or those who stand in solidarity with its victims. The international consensus on this issue is clear, and many players would appreciate seeing that reflected in the game.

If you agree with this concern, please consider supporting this request so the developers can see that it matters to a broader part of the community.

Thank you for your time and for continuing to improve the game. I have genuinely enjoyed the recent updates and hope this feedback will be taken into consideration.

What did I just read? Nobody cares that "the skin in the game somehow offends you". Just don't use it and that's it, all the statements doesn't make sense at all. You're kinda late for that tbh

"What did I just read?" - feedback from a player affected by a war your chosen symbol is associated with.

If nobody cared, companies across gaming, sports and entertainment wouldn't have removed Russian branding, sponsorships and symbols over the last few years. Clearly, many people do care.

Calling a player's concern meaningless simply because it doesn't affect you personally is an odd stance for someone developing a game for an international audience.

Russia is currently conducting a war against my country, so for many Ukrainians this isn't some abstract political topic or a matter of being "offended". It's a symbol associated with destruction, occupation and loss. I expressed feedback and a suggestion, nothing more.
